How to Find Dropshipping Suppliers in the USA Like a Pro

dropshipping suppliers usa

Entrepreneurs around the world have taken up dropshipping – and, honestly, we can’t blame them!

To put it simply, dropshipping is an Ecommerce business model that allows you to sell products without any inventory – you act as a middleman. When a customer places an order, they receive it directly from the supplier, saving you from having to store inventory.

There’s one key difference we’d like to point out about dropshipping that has a massive effect on finding a supplier – whether you’re doing high ticket or low ticket dropshipping.

We differentiate high ticket dropshipping by its higher quality standards and price point. We classify goods over $800 as high ticket items and those under $100 as low-ticket items.

At Dropship Breakthru, we’re huge fans of high ticket dropshipping – for countless reasons. But to really succeed at it, you need to have great, high-quality suppliers that are based in the same country as your customers.

So how exactly do you find those kinds of suppliers in the US?

Well, it takes a bit of research, but don’t worry. We got you covered.

How to Find Dropshipping Suppliers in the US

So, how exactly do you go about finding suppliers in the USA?

Here’s a step-by-step guide to make it as easy as possible.

Step 1: Search for Your Product

This might seem like a no-brainer, but start by searching for your product online. I’ll use eBikes, but trust me when I say this – you can do better!

Often search terms like “ebikes for sale,” “ebike brands” or “ebike dealers” will yield some great supplier results. We often recommend using transactional search terms with the words “buy,” “for sale,” or “purchase” for best results.

Step 2: Follow the SERP Results

The Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) will give you a few pages of options depending on how popular the item is.

Go to the “Shopping” page on Google to see items for sale, and then start browsing and investigating!

Step 3: Look for Real Brands (Not Products)

As you’re scrolling, try to identify some of the brands behind these products. It might take a bit of trial and error before you start recognizing brands, but you’ll get there!

Many brands will have a section of their website dedicated to “becoming a dealer” or “becoming a seller.”

Step 4: Learn to Recognize Resellers

Now we need to figure out how to recognize resellers.

If it’s a bit trickier to identify, poke around their website. There are a few common traits of resellers that you’ll be able to spot quite easily.

Resellers often stock an extensive range of brands and products. They might also lack branding or extra information – their sites tend to be more functional than pleasing.

And finally, keep an eye out for dropshipping terminology like “blindshipping,” “dropshipping,” “no minimum order,” “become a dealer,” or “reseller program.”

Step 5: Contact Brands Directly

Once you’ve identified a few brands, make a list of all of them and reach out. They’re usually happy to hear that someone wants to resell their products in a professional way – so don’t be afraid!

We always recommend contacting the brands directly by either picking up the phone or, if there’s no number, trying the online form or email address.

Emphasize that you’d love to become a dealer for them and explain your value proposition.

Mention how you’ll add value by making a beautiful website that will represent their product well, in addition to doing content marketing and SEO to get all of the information out there that needs to be out there.

You want to get as many brands on board as possible that fall into your niche!

How To Find US Suppliers on AliExpress

Another way to find dropshipping suppliers in the US is by using large online retailer services.

Which we’re not huge fans of, but it is something you’ll come across in your research, so we’d like to give you as much helpful information as possible.

One example is AliExpress, an online retail service based in China. It lists a selection of US-based suppliers.

There are common pitfalls with searching on platforms like this, such as the increased chance of counterfeit products or a lack of quality control (which can lead to legal troubles). They do make searching for dropshipping beginners easier.

To find US suppliers on Aliexpress, simply search for the product you’re looking for, and then in the filters section, select “Ship from: United States.”

Have a look around other platforms and see how you feel about them. Ultimately, while you CAN find US suppliers on AliExpress, you’ll still have the unit economics problems that come with low ticket products.

It just doesn’t make sense to low ticket dropship or to do branded dropshipping. That’s why we’re big believers in searching for high-quality brands in your niche to partner with and taking it from there.
